When should I first take my child to the dentist?
The “first visit by first birthday” is the generally accepted first dental visit.To prevent dental problems, your child should see a pediatric dentist when the first tooth appears, usually between 6 and 12 months of age.
Why should I take my child to the pediatric dentist instead of the regular dentist?
Pediatric dentists are uniquely experienced with how to make a frightening experience fun for your children, and to protect your child’s oral health. In addition, the more fun your children’s visits to the dentist are, the happier your children may be to visit the dentist every six months for their check-ups.
Why are baby teeth so important?
Primary teeth are important because they help with proper chewing and eating, help in speech development. Healthy milky teeth allow normal development of the muscles and jawbone, save space for the permanent teeth. Decayed baby teeth can cause pain and infections. Also, your child’s general health can be affected if decayed baby teeth aren’t treated.
How safe is anesthesia for kids?
Dental treatment with general anesthesia is carried out in hospitals with general anesthesia departments, accompanied by an anesthesiologist, a pediatric dentist and an experienced assistant team.
It is a preferred treatment for patients with very high levels of fear and anxiety, or for children with special needs, for whom adequate cooperation cannot be achieved.
Dental treatment by general anesthetizing is performed without risk, by providing the necessary conditions in a fully equipped hospital environment with which our clinic is contracted.
